A factory like amosphere

After a few visits to the barbican I have come to one understanding- The brutalist architecture of the Barbican represents an old factory/mill like design to me and surprisingly these images that I have found online that represent shapes from the Barbican to me descend from the Bauhaus movement. I will now do a further investigation to find the links between Brutalist and Bauhaus architecture.

The 798 Art District- old factories becoming art galleries -

Located in Dashanzi Art District (original 798 Factory), the heart of a growing art and culture community in Beijing.

The 798 is a strong example of Bauhaus style architecture. This stems from the fact that the area was built by East Germans in the 1950s to house weapons factories.
